Emerald Eyes for St. Patrick’s day

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow it’s March 17th 2013 and that’s St. Patrick’s Day. Which means green makeup. Now I wouldn’t advise you to wear green blush or lips, but nails and eye make up are really great options.

I’ve been to see Oz – The Great and Powerful yesterday and I loved it (and the makeup).

So my inspiration for this look was the green of Emerald City, but also the way that Oscar comes into the land of Oz.

The Sephora Pantone colour of the year is Emerald as well so that works even better.

I got this Superlooks – Matte Eyeshadow in no. 12 – Spring which is a bright green in my last Beautybox and I now have a great excuse to wear that. I also got a sample of Lancaser – Infinite Bronze in my last Truly Yours box so I’m using that product (my fullsize) to bronze myself up. I think this bright a green works better on tan skin.

I didn’t use a lot of products for this look. I did the following:
I started with

a clean and moisturised face, I used the Lancaster – Infinite bronze to tan myself up as you can see in this picture above (the only one taken in real sunlight because after that the clouds got in front of it).

I used the green from the Make Up For Ever – 12 Flash Color Case as a base colour to ensure the green to stay bright and I used the Superlooks – Matte Eyeshadow in no. 12 – Spring on top of that blending it at the edges. On my top waterline I added – Urban Decay – 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero. I curled my lashes (Shu Uemura – Eyelashcurler) and added Clinique – Lash Doubling Mascara (mine has a lash building primer on one side and the mascara on the other).

I then wanted to check how water-resistant the mascara and rest of the makeup was:

The mascara ran a bit after a long shower, the makeup didn’t budge. The tan did go a bit splotchy.
